It is wonderful and bewildering at the same time
to think of Luis Firmat being 50 years old.
His spirit and energy and love are just as alive and
vital as when we knew him as a growing child
in B.A. and when he and his family visited us in MA.
His Uncle Louis agrees with me that, to us,
he will always be LUIS PRIMO!!!!!!
Lots of Love and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LUIS!
Ann and Louis.

When your dad was born, your grandmother asked me to go to the hospital with your grandfather. Drove into NYC with the biggest book I could find "The Journey of a Soul" so I would not be a bother. Got 2 pages read and your dad arrived. Fastest delivery I have ever known. A couple of months later the Firmats left by cargo ship for Argentina and we only see each other infrequently since then. Tho I am very proud to be his godmother...even if I am not a very good one.
Our family loved the Firmats coming to vist, even when one time they came with chicken pox??? All air sick???? And they loved teasing about their English, which is a 1000 times better than our Spanish. All of them were fascinated with his mustache as a teenager and still refer to him as Joe Mustache. Will try to think of som more stuff and forward this to the kids. Please tell him he is much loved by his Nordamerican family.

Dear Joe Moustache:
Happy Birthday! Though it's been too long since I have seen you, I love you like the snow loves the cold, like the Pampas love the Argentinians, like Christmas loves Santa. And that's just three of the ten thousand ways I love you. Hope your birthday brought you many gifts, much love and the wisdom of the ages.

Su Primo,
Miguel Ortiz
